On the other hand amember is a great script. Yes it's close to $200 and you can only use it on one site, but it does what it needs to do (protect your content) very well. If only the two could be combined.
Well Amember has a wordpress plugin, but even that makes things a like sketchy. Enter kencinnus.com. This ex-space shuttle programmer has created 15 WordPress plugins to take the power of Amember and marry it with the flexibility of WordPress.
It also stops the days of saying “I wish Amember allowed me to.”
For example, wouldn't it be great to have a person sign up and then have yor content “Drip” over a period of time? This helps people stick around instead of signing up for your membership, getting all the info and then leave. There is a plugin called amprotect that (unfortunately) needs to incremental plugin from amember ($60), and then takes that feature and makes it super easy. It allows you to protect pages and posts in wordpress.
There are one time offer plugins, plugins to integrate with your email package like Aweber, if you ship physical products there is amphysical which sends orders directly to your fulfillment center.
The other side of amember is its ugly. Not any more. Now you can use amsales page and am thank you to pretty up the place.
The ability to add offers when people sign up is now blown through the roof with amUpsell, amOffers, anOne Click and many more.
You can really “pimp out” your Amember website, and you can use the plugins with any site that you own that is running Amember.
The plugins are $67 each, or $40 when you purchase them all. Can't find the $562 to do that? There is a payment plan where you get new plugin every two weeks for $40. The plugins come with lifetime upgrades.
