If you are selling ebooks and are worried about people sharing them, here is an inexpensive tool that may cause people to think before they list your ebook on their favorite file sharing service.
The WP PDF Stamper plugin allows you to dynamically stamp a PDF file with the customer’s details (e.g. name, email, address etc.) upon purchase.
Stamping a PDF file also allows you to track down the source of the shared file. If you come across a shared file then you will be able to track down the person who shared it as the contact information of the original buyer will be stamped in the file.
The WP PDF Stamper plugin requires the following installed on your server
Recent Version of WordPress (Version 2.7 or higher)
Recent Version of PHP (Preferably PHP 5 or higher)
IonCube Loader (this should be installed by default on most servers)
If you're not sure if your server is ready, they have a plugin that you can install before you buy it to check to make sure you're compatible.
If you are selling any kind of PDF documents, this is a must have. You can purchase it for $34.95 (take it for a test drive here). How comfortable is someone going to be passing around an ebook with their name, company name and email on it? This is a great idea.
